General questions about the Wedelhütte

When are your opening times?
Winter season: open daily from beginn of December to April

Depends on the opening times of Skiarea Hochzillertal

Summer season: closed

Is there a restaurant in the Wedelhütte?
Our hotel arrangement is always booked with half-board. Breakfast is offered in the pine lounge, and you can enjoy a gourmet dinner at a reserved table in the fireplace restaurant.

What is extended half-board?

  • Lavish breakfast buffet for athletes and connoisseurs
  • Sweet and/or savory skier’s snack from 3:30 pm in the lounge
  • Vitamin and juice bar in the relaxation room/wellness area
  • Tea bar in the lobby
  • Multi-course gourmet menu in the evening

As a non-hotel guest, can I eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the restaurant?
You are welcome to enjoy breakfast and lunch anytime in winter (please note seasonal opening times). Dinner for non-hotel guests is not possible.

Is there food for those with a lactose or gluten intolerance, wheat flour allergy, or diabetes?
Our kitchen can cater to all guests with intolerances. Please let us know when making your reservation or placing an order.

Is the tap water of drinking water quality?
Yes! Our water comes directly from the Marendalm spring.

Can we get married at the Wedelhütte?
In winter, it’s not possible to have your wedding reception here, because guests who are not staying in the hotel (only 26 beds) will not be able to ride back down into the valley after 4:00 pm.
We recommend Platzlalm as wedding location in summer.

Can we hold seminars/conferences here?
We have 2 rooms with panoramic windows that we offer as conference rooms: our vaulted wine cellar with 20 seats and our lounge with 30 seats. Equipment: large screen, flip chart, bulletin board, & moderator kit.

What are the operation times of the lifts in the ski area?
During the winter season, the lifts are in operation from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

How many kilometers of slopes are there in the ski area?
The Hochfügen Kaltenbach ski area has 90 km of ski slopes. You can find more info here.

Can we plan for ride on a Ski-Doo/slope grooming equipment?
No, these are utility vehicles – unfortunately excursions on slope equipment and Ski-Doos are not allowed.

Is there a helicopter landing pad?
In Tyrol, only emergency helicopters (air rescue) are allowed to take off and land. There is no landing permission for private helicopters.

Can I book only breakfast?
Our "More Enjoyment Arrangement" includes extended half-board. Breakfast only is not possible, since you are not able to leave or return to the hut after 4:00 pm!

Am I allowed to bring my dog with me into the hotel?
You are spending your skiing vacation on the highest point in the ski area. Around here, there are only mountains and slopes ;-) No pets are allowed in the rooms of the Wedelhütte.

Do you have hypoallergenic bed linens/rooms?
All rooms have wooden floors, and we are happy to provide hypoallergenic bedding. Please let us know when making reservations. P.S.: thanks to the high alpine location, there is less pollution in general (mite-free at an elevation over 2,000 m).

Handicap accessibility?
Not all places are barrier-free, but our hotel has an elevator and handicap-accessible WC. Arrival in winter is only possible for skiers.

What is the Albergo?
Since December 2018, the Albergo is our 2nd boutique chalet in the ski area. Unlike the Wedelhütte, it is designed in a modern style and stands out with exceptional Italian cuisine high up on the summit.

I like both chalets – can I spend my vacation in the Albergo and in the Wedelhütte?
Of course you can, and it’s easy too: you can go skiing, and we will take care of the relocation for you.
