Arrival in winter
Our hotel guests arrive in winter via the valley station of the Hochzillertal ski area in Kaltenbach. Address Hochzillertal valley station: Postfeldstr. 7, 6272 Kaltenbach, Austria
On arrival, unload your luggage at the gondola before parking your car in the free parking garage.
At the ski resort office, to the left of the ticket offices, you sign in as a guest of the Wedelhütte and buy your ski pass (note: this is not the hotel check-in).
Unloading and changing is also possible at our partner company Sport Stock in the valley station. With your luggage and ski equipment, you then take the elevator at Sport Stock to the right, SILVER gondola and together with your suitcases to the mountain station. Once at the top, you store your luggage in the “Arrival Wedelhütte” depot with the help of the lift staff until we collect it at around 5.00 pm.
All you need now is your winter sports equipment and your most important things in a rucksack that you carry with you.
Now the first descents await you: the Sonnenjet or Neuhütten and Wedelexpress chairlifts will take you across the snow-covered slopes to the Wedelhütte! A WARM WELCOME!
Last ascent: 16.00 *No night operation of the cable car! - Therefore no later arrival possible!
Great refreshment stop for daytime visitors
Once you arrive in Kaltenbach/Zillertal (B169), take the gondola to the mountain station in the Hochzillertal ski area with a valid lift ticket. Take the Sonnenjet or Neuhütten chairlift, then continue to the Wedelexpress chairlift, which will take you directly to your destination: the Wedelhütte is located a few turns below the Wedelexpress mountain station!
Non-skiers can reach us with the Zillertal Shuttel gondola from Hochfügen daily from 09:00-16:00.
Arrival in summer
Please note the special arrival due to our exposed location:
You can only reach us on foot (approx. 1.5 hours), by (e)bike or with our shuttle service (free of charge for hotel guests). Take the Zillertaler Höhenstraße from Ried or Kaltenbach, passing the toll station, to the Mizun reservoir at 1,800m. Park your car here at the “Speichersee Mizun” parking lot (navigation: 6272 Kaltenbach / Neuhütten 49 via Zillertaler Höhenstraße - single-lane mountain road with toll). From here you can start your hike or bike tour to the Wedelhütte. Leave your luggage in the car trunk and we will be happy to collect it for you.
