Is there a restaurant in the Wedelhütte?
Our hotel arrangement is always booked with half-board. Breakfast is offered in the pine lounge, and you can enjoy a gourmet dinner at a reserved table in the fireplace restaurant.
What is extended half-board?

- Sweet and/or savory skier’s snack from 3:30 pm in the lounge
- Vitamin and juice bar in the relaxation room/wellness area

Can I book only breakfast?
Our "More Enjoyment Arrangement" includes extended half-board. Breakfast only is not possible, since you are not able to leave or return to the hut after 4:00 pm!
How far is it to the airport/train station? Is there a shuttle service to the valley station in Kaltenbach?
Innsbruck airport: 60 min. travel time, Munich airport: 2 hr. travel time, Kaltenbach train station: 10 min. walk.
We will gladly organize a taxi upon request.
How can I pay?
Day guest: cash or with a charge of € 30 or more also with EC card, VISA, Mastercard
Hotel guest: cash, EC card, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
What are the rates for children?
Two full-paying people/room are always charged. On the couch bed: children’s discount: 0 - 3 yrs. old free; 4 - 10 yrs. old € 105, 11 - 14 yrs. old € 120; 15 and older € 160
What can I do if I don’t have a credit card and want to guarantee my reservation?
You can transfer a deposit or the entire amount in advance.
What are the cancellation conditions?
Up to 3 months prior to arrival, a cancellation is free. Three months to 1 month prior to arrival, we charge 40% of the travel price. One month to 1 week prior to arrival, the cancellation fee is 70 %. With a cancellation within the last week prior to arrival, we charge 90% of the travel price and 100% for an early departure.

As a non-hotel guest, can I eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the restaurant?
You are welcome to enjoy breakfast and lunch anytime in summer and winter (please note seasonal opening times). Dinner for non-hotel guests is only possible in summer.
Is there food for those with a lactose or gluten intolerance, wheat flour allergy, or diabetes?
Our kitchen can cater to all guests with intolerances. Please let us know when making your reservation or placing an order.
Is the tap water of drinking water quality?
Yes! Our water comes directly from the Marendalm spring.
Am I allowed to bring my dog with me into the hotel?
You are spending your skiing vacation on the highest point in the ski area. Around here, there are only mountains and slopes ;-) No pets are allowed in the rooms of the Wedelhütte.
Do you have hypoallergenic bed linens/rooms?
All rooms have wooden floors, and we are happy to provide hypoallergenic bedding. Please let us know when making reservations. P.S.: thanks to the high alpine location, there is less pollution in general (mite-free at an elevation over 2,000 m).
Handicap accessibility?
Not all places are barrier-free, but our hotel has an elevator and handicap-accessible WC. Arrival in winter is only possible for skiers.
Can we get married at the Wedelhütte?
In summer, you can have your wedding celebration here (from 30 to 80 people). If you don’t require the services of a local registrar, weddings are possible at any time upon arrangement. A civil ceremony is possible only on Thursday.
In winter, it’s not possible to have your wedding reception here, because guests who are not staying in the hotel (only 26 beds) will not be able to ride back down into the valley after 4:00 pm.
Can we hold seminars/conferences here?
We have 2 rooms with panoramic windows that we offer as conference rooms: our vaulted wine cellar with 20 seats and our lounge with 30 seats. Equipment: large screen, flip chart, bulletin board, & moderator kit.
How can I reach the hotel by car in winter?
You have booked a mountain hotel in the middle of the ski area – therefore, you can only reach us by gondola and/or skis. Your car can stay parked in the valley in Kaltenbach in the parking lot of the Hochzillertal lift or in the underground garage (free).
Do you have an underground garage?
You can park for free in the underground garage right at the valley station of the Hochzillertal lift.
What are the operation times of the lifts in the ski area?
During the winter season, the lifts are in operation from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
As a non-skier, can I reach the Wedelhütte?
Without winter sports equipment, you can only reach the hut via Hochfügen. The 15 km long mountain road leads from Fügen to Hochfügen (be aware of snow conditions, an all-wheel drive vehicle or snow chains might be necessary). The Zillertal Shuttle gondola will take you up to the summit station (last ride up at 4:00 pm). After a hike on the slopes (ca. 250 m), you will reach the Wedelhütte. We ask that you contact us by telephone for pick-up/luggage transfer.
When can I check in?
We recommend that during your ski day you check in the morning or at midday. We will be happy to reserve a table for you for breakfast on your arrival day. Your room will be available starting at 3:00 pm.
Is a late check-in/late check-out possible?
Unfortunately, a late check-in is not possible. On the evening before your departure, you can ask about the possibility of late check-out at the reception desk.
What do I do with my luggage? How will my luggage get to the hut? When will I get my luggage?
Upon your arrival, unload your luggage in front of the gondola before parking your car. All you need is your winter sports equipment and your most important things in a backpack, which you can take with you. In the ticket office you will purchase your ski pass (attention: this is not the check-in for the hotel). With your luggage, you will take the elevator infront the Sport Stock shop to the gondola and then ride to the summit station with your luggage. Here, you can store your luggage in the grey depot box for Wedelhütte until we pick it up for you at 5:00 pm.
Is there a luggage storage room?
You can store your luggage for free at the reception desk on your arrival day before check-in or after check-out on your departure day.
Is the ski pass included in the price?
The ski pass is not included in the price and must be purchased for the entire stay at the ticket office of the valley station. For the route for your departure, you don’t need a ski pass until 10:00 am.
If you would like to stay longer, there is an opportunity to purchase a day pass on-site.
What will happen to my room if I miss the last gondola ride (4:00 pm)?
A later arrival is definitely not possible. You can stay in the valley and take the first gondola the next morning at 7:30 am. Unfortunately, cancellation fees will be charged in their full amount.
How many kilometers of slopes are there in the ski area?
The Hochfügen Kaltenbach ski area has 90 km of ski slopes. You can find more info here.
Can we plan for ride on a Ski-Doo/slope grooming equipment?
No, these are utility vehicles – unfortunately excursions on slope equipment and Ski-Doos are not allowed.
Is there a helicopter landing pad?
In Tyrol, only emergency helicopters (air rescue) are allowed to take off and land. There is no landing permission for private helicopters.
What is the Albergo?
Since December 2018, the Albergo is our 2nd boutique chalet in the ski area. Unlike the Wedelhütte, it is designed in a modern style and stands out with exceptional Italian cuisine high up on the summit.
I like both chalets – can I spend my vacation in the Albergo and in the Wedelhütte?
Of course you can, and it’s easy too: you can go skiing, and we will take care of the relocation for you.
Is a late check-in/late check-out possible during summer?
Yes, a late check-in is possible. On the evening before your departure, you are welcome to ask about the possibility of a late check-out at the reception desk.
Is there a shuttle service to the Wedelhütte?
Our shuttle will take you to the Wedelhütte for € 5 per person. Under the telephone number +43 676 886 325 70 you can order a shuttle from the reservoir.
How do I get to the hotel with my car in summer?
You can park your car at the reservoir and hike from there. The road is closed to public transport.

Are there beautiful hikes here?
There are several summits to climb at the Wedelhütte: the Wimbachkopf (path 35a, ca. 40 min. round trip), the Marchkopf (path 25, ca. 1.5 hrs. round trip), the Wetterkreuzspitze (path 31, ca. 2.5 hrs. round trip), and a loop trail via the Grünalm and Kristallhütte (path 14 and 35, ca. 5 hrs.).
